David Hockney was born on the 9th of July 1937 in Bradford. He English painter, draughtsman, printmaker, stage designer and photographer. He moved to America for 30 years, mostly in California. He is known for using very vibrant colours. He died in Scarborough general hospital.
This is one of the pieces of work that David Hockney created. I like this image because most of David Hockney's work looks less realistic however this piece of work looks very realistic. I have recreated this because the scenery in the picture suits the surroundings that I live in mostly out of all of his work. In this picture it is clear that David Hockney has focused on mostly vibrant, saturated and complimentary colours which makes the photo look very summery.
I took this remake picture of the image above that David Hockney produced. I chose to remake this photo of his because this my favorite picture that he has made. I took this picture the best i could to match the image above however I haven't painted over the top of the picture which makes a good effect on the picture above.
This photo is another one of my favorite pieces of work that David Hockney has created. I like it because i find some parts of the image interesting. For example the water is very intriguing because of how David Hockney has drawn it. For instance most artists would just draw a shade of blue and some reflections however David Hockney has created little dashes which makes the image look much more interesting. Furthermore they remind me of tiny fishes or tiny waves which as well as the other image makes me think of summer. This picture was produced in Los Angeles and it was based on a swimming pool that David Hockney based his other swimming pool images on.
